Mr. de Royer succeeds Mr. H Gelis, who has assumed responsibilities in Siemens Canada after completing his successful five years tenure in Siemens India.
Siemens Ltd. has recently announced the appointment of Mr. Patrick de Royer as Executive Director (ED) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from March 1, 2006. Mr. de Royer will be responsible for the Finance and Administration functions and will also coordinate with the Managing Director for the overall management of the company.
On assuming the new role as ED and CFO, Patrick de Royer said, “India is a dynamic country with a robust economy, unique market environment and highly talented workforce. In this vibrant scenario, Siemens has registered excellent growth and all its businesses are growing faster than the market. It’s a debt free, cash rich and AAA company. It is definitely a challenge to continue and sustain the growth path carved by my predecessors. I also consider it my privilege to be working with such a gifted and motivated team in India and I look forward to it.”
With over 30 years of experience in Siemens, Mr. de Royer has handled several responsibilities in various countries. Prior to his assignment in India, Mr. Patrick de Royer was the Head of Department - Corporate Strategies Asia/Pacific that involved fostering cross-regional strategic projects in close association with the Central Executive Committee of Siemens AG. During 2000-2004, he was the CFO of Siemens Indonesia.
Mr. de Royer joined Siemens in the Sales Administration department of the telecom division in Munich, Germany. Subsequently, in 1981, he moved to Argentina as a Commercial Projects Manager for a mega telecom turnkey project. Back in Munich in 1986, he joined the Central Corporate Department - Sales Asia, with responsibilities for South East and North East Asia. In 1989, Mr. de Royer took charge as Managing Director and CFO of Siemens Matsushita Components in Bordeaux and then as Head of Division of Private Telecom Networks in France. Thereafter, he was Managing Director of Epcos, the Passive Components major in the same country.
