Applications, systems and hardware permanently assigned to each other and each designed for their maximum load mean that servers are often underutilized and capacities go to waste. With the principle of Adaptive Service Computing (ASC) from Siemens IT Solutions and Services, SAP® applications can be operated with much greater flexibility and cost savings.
The basic idea stems from industrial production where modern production lines are used for a variety of different tasks. Transferring to IT means that the more flexibly companies are able to operate their IT systems, the better they can comply with market demands.
This is where we bring our ASC (Adaptive Service Computing) concept into play: hardware and software resources are available as universal services in distributed computer environments.
Benefits at a glance
In practice, Adaptive Service Computing comprises the design, provision and maintenance of SAP® operation. This includes the technical administration of SAP® applications and the databases. Availability and support are regulated by individual Service Level Agreements. The solution is developed taking into account specific requirements. These primarily include the number of users, SAP® modules used, availability percentage, required storage space, and frequency and extent of data backups.
We take care of applications at our own high-performance computing center.
