To encourage Siemens process automation users to share, interact, learn and exchange experiences, in co-ordination with Siemens AG, Siemens India organized the first Siemens Process Automation End-User Summit’s (SPAES) took place in Goa, India (10th to 12th August’11). The event attracted more than 150 customers (mainly End Users, Consultants, EPCs but also Siemens Globally Certified Solution Partners).
It is always a challenge to do things for the first time – to take THAT step and to try something completely new. But having worked hard to build a presence in the process industries in the region over the last few years, Siemens Industry Automation believed it was time to take things to the Next Level. Siemens shows it has a clear focus to respond to the needs of customers by establishing a User Community for our Process Automation Users. The user community will learn different methods of applying Siemens technologies in solving everyday industry challenges. It is our desire to inspire and to engage our customers in such Communities,” said Axel Lorenz, head of process automation, who took part at event.
Customers could learn from the experience of different End Users in their presentations about industry applications. They could also learn more about the latest Siemens DCS technologies from Industry experts of Siemens headquarters and Solution partners across the country. Several automation solutions and systems were demonstrated in small exhibitions and presented in different breakout sessions.
End users, solutions partners, and Siemens employees from different regions are extremely positive on how this first end-user summit has gone, especially in terms of the knowledge they have gained and the networking has started to build up the first regional community of Siemens process automation users.
