SoftTurbo

SoftTurbo is a state-of-the-art digital control system, which has been exclusively developed to serve the automation and control needs of turbines. It is a powerful, versatile and modular system.

The SoftTurbo provides the user the flexibility to choose his configuration and the extent of redundancy in the most cost effective manner. It ensures very high reliability & safety. The entire automation requirements of the turbine are fulfilled by this system.

The general features of the system are described below:

Using software modules as building blocks, the structure and scope of the automation equipment can be tailored to the requirements of the specific application.
Since the complete automation requirements of the turbine can be fulfilled by this one system, dependence on external systems for signal exchanges is minimal.
SoftTurbo allows a planned degree of redundancy scale from 0-100% i.e. from totally non-redundant to a fully redundant configuration. This is particularly important, where the control and protection tasks can be configured (1 out of 2) depending upon their criticality.
Flexibility of the system also ensures that any future automation requirements on the turbine can be easily met by expanding the modular structure of the hardware.
The system has a very high degree of self and cross diagnostics. As a result the MDT of the system is very low, resulting in high availability.

External systems are linked to the system through open gateways.
