Owing to the rapid development of India’s I.T capital and Biotechnology hub, Bengaluru, the Government of Karnataka and Airports Authority of India initiated the 1st greenfield project of Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL). Located at Devanahalli, around 30 kilometers north of Bengaluru, it is the largest, private sector-owned and operated airport in India.
BIAL, designed in collaboration with Siemens, as one of the leading technology partners amongst others, marks the advent of future-ready airports in India. Siemens has equipped BIAL with complete electrical, IT and communications systems, airfield lighting, passenger boarding bridges, escalators and elevators, baggage handling system, power supply equipment, building security and automation system.
Siemens with its airport domain knowledge and expertise has ensured that the airport’s facilities lend itself to the passenger traffic forecast and projected cargo growth.
Beyond contributing to BIAL’s flying experience, Siemens is proud to co-create this new benchmark in the Indian aviation sector.
