The versatility of a modern airport lies in the efficiency of its building management system, facilitating speedy flow of accurate information to control units and signal controlling stations housed across the airport.
Siemens BMS, is an independent computer system that calculates the pre-set requirements achieved through state of the art system router. Its inputs such as temperature sensors and outputs such as on/off signals are connected to outstations around the building. Programmers use this information to decide the necessary level of applied Control.
BMS controls the following systems:

The Power to Fly
As the scope of technology widens in the aviation sector, the role of power supply, distribution and management in Airports become more crucial. From spelling out accurate information to signaling aircrafts to energizing intricate electronic applications and systems, modern day airports are largely driven by reliable power solutions.
Siemens has drawn upon its expertise in the power sector to outline a comprehensive plan that efficiently meets the airport’s power requirements. BIAL also houses an additional Transformer as part of future expansion and for maintenance purpose.
Complete medium voltage system is monitored through SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) for finding the status of the feeders. Early streamer emission types with maintenance free earth rods are provided for early lightning detection.
Glowing Infrastructure
Skylight design of the roof elements at the BIAL terminal allows sufficient inflow of light during day time while automatic column lights reduce power consumption. Additionally, high power column lights controlled through Siemens BMS helps conserve power.
During the night time, ambience in the PTB is maintained through indirect and direct column lighting of metal halide design with worm lights. Aesthetically designed fluorescent lights are provided in the technical & ATC buildings areas to meet the functional requirements.
Car park lights: Special types of indirect lights with sheds are installed in the car drop-off canopy. Blue floor mounted path indicator LED lights are provided to enhance the overall view.
