Social forestry aims at planting specific species of trees, which is also a viable source of livelihood for communities while simultaneously aiding to combat climate change. At Siemens, the focus of social forestry is to encourage greater stakeholder participation towards building a sustainable environment and a better world. We plant today for a better tomorrow!
Siemens has initiated social forestry at Amle village in Mokhada (Thane district), planting 1,200 trees in partnership with the community. We ensure that the selection of tree species is based on a thorough understanding of the ecology, topography and need of the community.
